#902 Phantom Planet

Nothing of great consequence was removed from Planet, the BBI simply cut out the fat. Though there was a lot of touching and longing stares between the Col and his aide.
The first scene to go comes right after the credits...

Colonel: "It's just incredible..."
Servo: "The things I can do with my Spirograph"
Colonel: "Two ships, missing in less than a month. Nothing within thousands of miles of their position and yet they crash into something that appears suddenly on our radar, big enough to be a planet ..."
Crow: "Like Rosie O'Donnell"
Colonel: "and the next instant it disappears!"
Crow: "Like Rosie O'Donnell's career"
Wormy guy: "It's against all theories of space"
Mike as Colonel: "well Duh!"
Colonel: "Did you get the same reports from bases 2 and 3?"
Wormy guy: "It appeared for a second or two, then vanished completely"
Crow: "Again, like... Rosie O'Donnell"
Colonel: "A ship is on a routine flight; controls, rocket, everything in order. Then all of a sudden - "SNAP"
Servo: "My bra strap broke!"

At this point the Colonel receives notice that General Gibson is calling
Mike as Colonel: "Mel Gibson, again? I need a restraining order"
The General wants to know what's going on up there


Crow: "Look at the way wormy guy is checking out the Colonel"
Servo singing: "I don't know how to looove him..."
General: "Your certain the rockets crashed?"
Colonel: "I am - We have their last log entry through our recording reproduction unit"
Crow: "Mike, I bet he's the kind of guy who used the terms -"log entry" and "reproduction unit"- on his honeymoon"

There's some back and forth banter, the Colonel can't figure out what's going on and tells the General that this mysterious planet comes and goes at such speed that they can't track it
General: "Phantom planet Lansfield? You're a little old to think that aren't you?"
Mike as Colonel: "I still have the playful spirit of a 6 year old, sir"
Colonel (Very angry): "This is capable base General, run by capable men! Now there's something out there that isn't suppose to be!!"
Crow as Colonel: "You rock stupid over officious jerk!"
General: "All right, all right, take it easy"
Servo as General: "I'm your superior officer but I'm still a little scared of you"

General: "Send another reconnaissance with Chapman"
Colonel: "Chapman? I need him for the Mars project!"
Crow as Colonel: "You miserable half wit, do you have lint for brains!!"
Mike: "Guys I think I'll try speaking to Pearl like this next time she gives an order"
Servo: "Well, It's been nice knowing you Mike"

The General tells the Colonel that if this doesn't get cleared up that there won't be any Mars project and orders... "Send him!"
The communications officer pages Chapman and the camera stays on her and wormy guy while they stand/sit in uncomfortable silence for a while...

Servo as wormy guy: "well... I suppose..."
Crow as woman: "No"
Servo as wormy guy: "yup "sighs" - Uh Cathy..."
Crow as woman: "No"
Servo as wormy guy: "This Saturday, you wouldn't..."
Crow as woman: "No"
Chapman enters and we rejoin the MSTing

Mike: "It's the Mothra twins"
