#513 The Brain That Wouldn't Die
Not a whole lot was cut from Mike's debut as host, just exposition and padding. As to the padding. The scene where our good Doctor runs with the head was originally very, very... I mean VERY, drawn out:

Doctor Cortner runs over a hill and he heads (oops - sorry, bad choice of words) for some stairs. Gasping for air, he stops and starts...


...then sits and gasps and stumbles and stops and jogs for what seems like an eternity! All the while clutching his girlfriends tightly wrapped noggin like a football.

Servo: "Jim Henson's, Jim Fixx babies"
Crow: "By this time my head was aching for air"



Once he reaches the top, he pauses and looks at his bloodied hand.

Mike: "Ew, my melon's leaking"
Servo: "It's gonna take a lot of club soda to get that jacket clean"

With that, Dr. Cortner, turns and walks to the house. We return with Mike and the Bots as Kurt hears some frantic knocks on the door.

The final cut comes between the beauty contest and when Dr. Cortner drives up to the models home.

As we leave the beauty contest, there was some dialog that is difficult to hear as M&TB are speaking. What was said was...
Girl: "She just stays in her studio posing for art classes and camera bugs"
Then we hear the Doctor in voice over...
Dr. Bill: "Figure Model, poses for art classes, the nicest body she's ever seen, The nicest body"
Crow as Dr. Bill: "Did I mention, the nicest body?"
as Dr. Cortner continues this line of though, the scene dissolves back to Jan and her pan
Dr. Bill: "Maybe this is the one, she's got to be. I can keep Jan alive only for a few more hours, I've got to find her a body"



The implication is that Jan's brain powers are increasing to the point that she can read Cortner's thoughts:

Jan: "H-he intends to kill somebody... to rob them of their body, do you hear me?"
Monster in the closet: "knock"
Crow (Monotone): "He said - Dear God no, here she goes again"
Jan: "Yes you hear me. You know how Bill's egotism drives him on and on, to infamy upon infamy..."
Servo: "To Infinity and beyond!"
Jan: "Can good ever be born of evil?"
Monster: "Knock, knock" Mike (Monotone): "He said - Can I get some privacy, I'm on the can"
Jan: "Yet he claims his - work is for science, for humanity - To be joined to flesh not your own..."
Crow: "Sounds like fun" - Mike: "How would you know?"
Jan: "What's human in this? Of how you must exist, locked behind that door. We've got to stop him!"
Monster: "Knock!"
Servo (Monotone): "He said - For the love of Mike, please stop talking, I'm getting an earache"


Next, the scene cuts to Bill in his car. He stops and unfolds a crumpled slip of paper.

Servo: "I am a sick man... I am a wicked man. An unattractive man. I think my liver hurts"
Crow: "I think he accidentally drove onto the Manos set"

Shortly there-after we rejoin Mike and the Bots as Bill parks at the home of Doris the model.
